Why choose an outdoor family photography session?


Childhood passes in the blink of an eye. Outdoor family sessions are all about slowing down, spending time together and capturing the genuine moments that make your family unique.



Rather than stiff poses, we’ll create natural photographs full of laughter, connection and the little moments you’ll treasure for years to come.

Your portrait session is calm and unhurried. I'll work patiently at your dog's pace, using treats, toys and plenty of encouragement to create a beautiful collection of timeless portraits.

Following your session you will be invited for you reveal session, where you will see your photographs for the very first time. Here you can select your favourites and choose how to enjoy them - from beautifully finished prints to hand crafted artwork designed for your home.

Session details



Outdoor family sessions take place at one of two carefully selected woodland and park locations in County Durham or Northumberland and typically last around an hour.


Before your session, you'll receive a preparation guide with everything you need to know, including what to wear and how to prepare, helping everyone feel relaxed and ready for the day.


Sessions are unhurried and designed around your family. Rather than expecting children to sit still and smile at the camera, I'll gently guide you through the session, capturing natural interactions, genuine laughter and the connections that make your family unique.


Family sessions are usually scheduled later in the day when the light is at its most beautiful, creating the soft, natural look you see throughout my portfolio.

Investment


Collections start from £149, with three carefully designed options to choose from. Simply select the collection that's right for you when booking your session.



Should you wish to upgrade your collection or purchase additional prints, wall art or digital images after seeing your photographs, you're welcome to do so.

A few common questions answered...

 

How do I book a photo session with you?

Simply complete a contact form and I'll get back to you. Alternatively you can call me on 07762575822 or e mail me at gaylehallimages@gmail.com

How long does it take to receive the final photos?

The whole process from the outdoor session to products being delivered take around 6-8 weeks depending on what products or artwork is purchased.

Can I order prints or artwork after my session?

Yes, collections or individual pieces are available for you ot purchase and display your favourite images for many years to come.

What if my children won't sit still or behave?

Please don't worry! Children don't need to sit still or smile at the camera for the entire session. In fact, some of the most beautiful photographs happen when they're simply being themselves. I'll gently guide your family through the session, allowing plenty of time for children to explore, play and interact naturally. My aim is to capture genuine expressions and the connections you share, rather than perfectly posed photographs.

What happens if it's raining?

If the rain is heavy or if high winds are expected, sessions will be rearranged. Sessions will go ahead if the rain is light or showers are forecast, please bring a brolly for protection between shots.

I don't know how to pose?

You don't need to know how to pose at all. I'll gently guide you throughout the session with simple prompts rather than stiff poses, so you can relax and enjoy spending time together. My aim is to capture natural interactions, genuine smiles and the connection between your family, creating photographs that feel authentic and truly reflect you.

What do we wear?

Don't worry if you're unsure what to wear. After booking, you'll receive a preparation guide with lots of helpful advice and inspiration. In general, neutral or complementary colours work beautifully, while avoiding large logos and bold patterns helps create timeless photographs that won't date.

What do I need to bring with me?

Snacks and a drink are very good for those little hungry moments, but try and avoid ones which are high in sugar content.

Is there parking?

Yes both locations have plenty of parking.
